Quote: Gun arrest in Minneapolis City HallAssociated Press MINNEAPOLIS - There's been another gun arrest at Minneapolis City Hall, according to a report by KSTP-TV. Police say they arrested a man who walked into City Hall Tuesday with a gun. The 60-year-old Big Lake man tried to persuade officers that he was part of an undercover government operation. He was arrested at gunpoint. Just last April, police locked down City Hall as they searched for man who reportedly picked up a gun stashed in some planters. Those planters have now been removed and signs banning guns have been put up.

They are telling me I can not enter City Hall with my gun and they have no legal right to do so.

I don't see anything there saying they can't post a (meaningless) sign.
Enforcing what the sign says is a violation of state law. Now, how much justice can you afford?

I agree that the carry law or maybe even any other Minnesota statutes or maybe even Federal code doesn't prevent the posting of the sign, but, to me, the sign is a threat under color of law or office.
I don't believe the state is guaranteed freedom of speech under the 1st amendment, the people are.
I can't afford to become a test case on this point, but I can sure exercise my right to bitch about it.

Whoever directed that those signs be posted should be fired, for putting the city in a liability situation. They are making the City of Minneapolis the (possible) target of a lawsuit, due to their willful violation of Minnesota State Law, and putting the city at (probable) financial liability for both side's (probably not cheap) court costs.

Been carrying this picture around for along time. Sorry for the delay. It's wrong in so many ways.
