Do you have the e-mail addresses that go with that?

These people are NOT employees of the NRA or of NRA-ILA. They are volunteers who try to "get out the vote."
They are good guys BUT writing them will NOT move the organization one inch.

Who does the NRA listen to? How can we wake them up? Are they not willing to admit they may have been asleep the wheel?

Thanks for the info.
When the guys on the ground are getting inundated with e-mails and calls, they have a way to get back to the heart of the beast.

I have contacted my State Rep and Senator for where i live, the ones for next door right across the county line and even sent on to Rep. Dill. I am a very rural homeowner but still don't feel the laws for the people in the Cities should be any different then here.
Now to wait and see who responds first.

I emailed Cornish, Dill, and Seifert. The only one who even bothered to respond was Seifert, who told me he was not aware of the new language in the bill, but would look into it.
I'm sorry, but the snide response from Cornish that was posted here pisses me off so badly that I want to say all kinds of things which would probably land me in a great deal of trouble.

Yes, refrain from any disparaging remarks about Cornish. Remember, he is one of the "good guys". ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

I sent all the listed representatives this:
Quote: Dear Representatives,
I urge you to oppose H.F. 1238 as it has language defining the seven county metro area as "different" than the rest of greater Minnesota. This is untrue and could open doors to anti-gun legislation, making anti-gunners think that pro-gunners agree the metro is "different" and needs more stringent gun laws than the rest of the state. This will lead to a patchwork of gun laws across the state--a nightmare. Please stop this now.
Sincerely, and received two emails back from Tony: Quote: Im voting yes and I am the co author of the bill. What have you heard about it and from whom?
Tony and about two hours later: Quote: You are wrong in your assumptions and I'm voting yes.
Tony
Apparently he's rather adamant...

Apparently "were wrong." I'd like to hear his explaination for that statement.

Apparently, Tony thinks the issue is like the firearm deer hunting laws, where different laws are applied to different zones. For example, in some zones you are limited to a shotgun, handgun, or black powder rifle, while you can use a centerfire rifle in other areas. I am more concerned with the possible effects on preemption. This bill just isn't worth the risk.

With all due respect to Rep Cornish and hi past work on behalf of gun owners in the state, When a person becomes a criminal because he crossed some arbitrary county border it is Rep Cornish who's got it wrong.
I wish I knew why he is clinging to this so hard. Is it perhaps that, as Jeremiah pointed out in and earlier post in this thread, that the Senate
version does not contain the "metro area" language and he thinks that the language in the final bill will not include it. I don't know.

After a number of emails sent in the last week I finally got this response.
Quote: I'm voting yes.
Tony
I'm holding back on replying that he has sold us out and given the anti gun legislators their dream come true in the process.
I'm beginning to think the honeymoon is over between Cornish and gun owners.
