I call for a reorganization that merges The No Longer New Thing with some other Thing. Among other Things.

I think its a legitimate question.. I just hit search new posts when I open the page, so that limits it, but we do seem to have a number of dead or barely used categories that could be consolidated.

I suggest the following:
1. The Serenity Showings (both years!) and the Gun Rights Gathering forums be merged into a "Gatherings" forum and it be placed down in the Events group.
2. Holster Swap be merged into Holsters, holsters, holsters or Gear.
3. Questions about this forum be moved down into either the off-topic or announcements area.
Just my $0.02.

Here is my suggestion. Click the "view new posts" link in the upper right of the main screen. Then you see just the threads that have been added too since the last time you visited.

That last works for me.
And now, with my site owner hat on: I don't have any problem, either way, with any of the reorg suggestions; if some admin wants to do it, they can. If not, no problem.

I did these things:
* Consolidated the three gatherings into one.
* Moved "Holster Swap" into "Gear"
I didn't do these things:
* Holster Swap be merged into Holsters, holsters, holsters
The Trading Post area is for transactions. The "Holsters, holsters, holsters" area is for discussion.
* Questions about this forum be moved down into either the off-topic or announcements area.
I think it needs to be high on the list, so that people see it and use it.

That's the way I do it. I never look at the list of subforums. I love how the BBS keeps track of what I've read regardless of what computer I access the site from.

Same here. On the occasions when I start a new thread, I have to reacquaint myself with what the subforums are.
