For some reason, I keep hitting refresh on this thread :-)

Here's a prayer and a hope for the best possible outcome.

Post subject:  Good News

My Friends:

I wanted to let all of you know the procedure was an unqualified success. I am on pretty limited duty for the next couple of days but with the help of diet, exercise and the right drugs you all will have to tolerate this crusty old squid for many more years.

I cannot begin to express how much the support of the people on this board means to me during this time. The best news is that I can go shooting again next week :D :D :D

On top of all that I think I may have bought into teaching a NRA First Steps Pistol, Basic Pistol and PPITH class to some of the nurses and my cardiologist.

Again my thanks to all and a promise that if I can ever be of help or support to any of you all you need do is call.

Well I am going to rest now but I wanted to let all of you know how things went.

Thanks again.

Jeff

Well you'll just have to wait for that one.

I am more than willing to share at Bennie's next plate shoot though.

It's great to hear that your operation was a success and that you introduced more people to shooting in the process!

It came about in an interesting way, one of the guys here recommended I ask how long I had to wait before shooting just to be on the safe side. After the question the Cardiologist (female) and I talked about a situation she was in recently adn she asked me about the permit process and available classes.

I of course recommended she come here and look at the people posting ads for classes and then look at their posts to find one she might like. I also let her know that she could contact me at any time for recommendations. She had a real scare in the hospital parking ranp a few weeks ago.

She was not anti but had no experience, but was very interested and open to the idea.

Never let heart surgery stop you from advancing the cause... :)

Since she clearly took good care of you, tell her her carry class is on me.

I still have openings for Saturday the 26th.

I will see what her plans are.

Thank you for the offer.

If, god forbid any of you need a Cardiologist I can strongly recommend Dr. Pam Paulsen at North Memorial. She was voted best cardiologist in the cities by the doctors of the cities last year.
