Great size, excellent weight, price is hard to beat, and of course the warranty. I have torture tested mine during one of Rob Pincus' classes. 1500 rounds in two days, all holster draw, tons of reloading, zero cleaning, zero malfunction. If you'd like to fire one I'm always happy to meet up with you. |

But it isn't really much smaller than the OP's Glock, is it? I think the Smith & Wesson M&P makes a nice carry gun. Check out the M&P9c compact with thumb safety: BB |

Thanks for all the responses so far. I'm taking a list of suggestions and heading out tonight to hit the shops. |

DeanC wrote: PT 111, not 1911 Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I have had 1911 on the brain lately and didn't catch the missing '9'. BB |

+1000 to the P7. As soon as I get my holster, it will be my daily carry. I have also owned an HK USPc and would be very willing to suggest it as well. |

I was able to fend things off until recently but I just had my first chronic attack this week. The prognosis is not good. BB |

BB Thank you Dr. Dean I now realize that the 1911 virus I have contracted is a terminal condition. The only treatment for the condition will put me in a situation where there is nothing to leave my heirs, except the ever growing collection of 1911's. |

How about a Beretta PX4 Storm Compact. Seemed sturdy. It is double stack, so it is pretty fat. I liked the DA trigger and I've always liked Berettas. Thoughts? |

Just recently bought a PX4 Storm and love the gun. Been looking at the compacts to see if I want to get one. Haven't been able to hold one yet but I had a little bird tell me there was one to be seen at a local shop today. Hoping it is still in the case on Saturday so I can take a look. |

Another vote for the P7 series. I carry my P7M8 regularly, and love it. I'd also recommend taking a look at a Sig P239, or, if you want a higher capacity pistol, a 228 or 229. |

Well, I fell in Love with the CZ's. They fit me the best. Ended up going with the 9mm CZ 2075 RAMI Polymer. Factory night sights 2 double stack mags with finger rests. Now, where to find a holster or two? Thanks for all the suggestions. I did check out all of the suggested pistols, they were all great choices. Thanks again! |
