Interesting - prompting the video gave me a response of "Sorry, video content not available at this time."

Kinda' late for the cover-up!

Looks like this one is getting around:

And looks like heads might roll:

Quote:
15 Philly officers taken off street after videotaped beating

PHILADELPHIA - Fifteen Philadelphia police officers have been taken off the street as authorities investigate a video showing three suspects being kicked and beaten by city police.

A spokesman for Mayor Michael Nutter says the mayor stands behind the police department but his first glance of the video does appear to show the officers overstepping their authority.

The video was shot Monday night by WTXF-TV. It shows three police cars stopping a car on the side of a road.

The tape shows about a dozen officers gathering around the vehicle and pulling three men out. About a half-dozen officers hold two of the men on the ground. Both are kicked repeatedly, with one of the two apparently struck with a baton. Punches were also thrown.

The third man is also kicked and ends up on the ground.

Oops... the on scene supervisor will have some explaining to do why he/she did not control their officers. It seams like this happens much more often during high speed pursuits when adrenaline gets flowing.

We are only seeing one side of the story and hopefully the dash cams with sound will provide better information.

Yup. Looks totally justified, the suspects on the ground being pinned by a few officers each were obviously presenting a threat to the officers that walked up and kicked and stomped the dangerous folk into extra submission. When a little submission just isn't good enough . . ..

That there are no checks on their behavior, external or internal, apparently.

Not in Anoka or Washington counties in Minnesota.

Remember that EVERY police officer "sees no evil, hears no evil, and speaks no evil" of his thuggish brothers. That makes ALL of them accomplices (sorry, but them's the facts). In fact, as police officers, they are probably primary violators of some reporting statute. But it's a dangerous, low paying job (one wonders why they stick to it?).

Only police officers (or prosecutors) can clean up the POLICE. We civilians sure can't.
