Quote: Loose Goat Shot, Killed by South St. Paul PoliceResidents upset by shooting of goat Created On: Tuesday, 24 Mar 2009, 8:51 PM CDT SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. - Some residents are upset that South St. Paul police shot and killed a goat that had gotten loose in the area on Monday. A city administrator told FOX 9 that an ethnic processor told the city a goat had gotten away and described it as very aggressive. Officials also say that police took a number of complaint calls and didn’t want to take any chances with a goat that had a full set of horns. Glenn Boche is not happy at all about the incident. "I think what happened was totally uncalled for," Boche said. "This animal was not a 2,000-pound steer that might have gotten loose; it was a docile goat that wasn't bothering anybody or anything."

I got bit in the ass by a goat a few years ago (long story, short version is: I was in Iowa). Based on that past experience, I might shoot the damned thing too.

I'm guessing it's not something on the shelf next to the food processors.

No but I could go for a nice MLT: a mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe. They're so perky, I love that.

So many ways to go with that lead-in. Many of them extremely tasteless.

Actually, now the goat is totally useless to its owner. It wasn't slaughtered according to the "ethnic" dietary laws.

Maybe the cops thought the goat was a ROUS.

Dean, that is the consequence of the goat getting loose and the owner has to accept that, my comment was about the public heu and cry about shooting the goat.

The proper word for goat meat is "chevon". Tasty, too. Mild, like pork, but with the texture of venison.

I don't believe they exist.
