I went out and got a handful of dies and a RCBS master supreme kit and started on my .223 tonight. :D

i have yet to receive my BR that i ordered 3 weeks ago, but i, too, went and bought my .223 dies and some bullets. i had a half dozen casings on my reload bench (can't even remember where i got them from) so i started to work on them and get the dies set. i have always used rcbs dies but this time i went with a Lee set (with the factory crimp). they were less than half the price of the rcbs dies without the factory crimp die and they came with the proper shell holder(i already had the proper shell holder since i reload .222). let's keep each other updated on what loads work for our rifles.

Here's what I've loaded so far, and I'm being told this is on the hot side:

LC .223 brass+ .224 Rem 55gr HP + 24.5gr IMR 3031.
My over all cart. length is 2.250~2.257"

I am loading mixed headstamp brass with 25 gr of WW748 Winchester Small Rifle Primer and Hornady 55 gr FMJBT.

They seem to work well and according to the gospel of reloading (John at Gunstop :D ) closely approximates the standard military 55 gr load.

I do as well, the problem is that my rifle tends to throw the brass downrange :(

I am waiting for a brass catcher to arrive. That should save a lot of the brass. :D :D

Make one from a coat hanger and bug screen. Buy the metal mesh not the fiber glass.
Five minutes work, maybe ten if you want to solder it.

jac714 -- You want to trade some bullets for some brass? :) What's a fair trade? I've got some .223 brass and some .45 auto brass.

And, yeah, darn kids! :)
