I recently bought a Kahr PM9 and after 300 rounds of FMJ through it with no problems I bought some ammo for personal protection. I thought I was ordering Magtech Gold 9mm 115 gr +p but it was +p+. Kahr says to only shoot factory loaded ammunition. At 451 foot pounds of muzzle energy with this ammunition, can I safely shoot this in my PM9 without any problems?

Here: http://p201.ezboard.com/fczechpistols82 ... =115.topic is an excellent FAQ about +p+ ammo.

The short answer is: If Kahr thought it was a good idea, they would say so in the manual.

You probably could shoot a few rounds through it but by so doing you a) risk damage to a very small gun that is not designed to take the kind of pressures you may be subjecting it to; b) You risk injury to yourself and anyone else around you; and last but by no means least, c) you have certainly invalidated your warranty.

If it were me, I'd take or send it back and exchange it for the correct ammo for the weapon.

Mag-Tech is "factory" loaded ammunition. If in doubt about +p+, call Kahr.

Yup.

That said, I wouldn't shoot it in mine -- you're not going to get significant additional velocity in return for the significant additional beating up of the gun.

If you want a 9mm that was designed to handle an almost preposterously wide range of pressures, get an H&K P7.
