Had a conversation with an anti yesterday..........so, to share a few things

Anti : Ban all guns
Me: well if you do that you only remove them from law abiding citizens
Anti: well there will be less guns
Me: However the guns that are still out there will be in the hands of criminals
Anti: well there will be less guns
Me: True, but criminals by nature will not abide by the law
Anti: well there will be less guns

Anti conclusion: It's the guns stupid! not the criminals!

Aaaarrrrrggg

I also learned that all you gun totin CONCEALED CARRY guys have large ego's and carry guns for the power it gives you. (china, MsT why do you girls carry?)

Asked her to look into Wash DC and their crime rates and the fact that citizens cannot legally possess handguns etc.
Anti: Well they get them across the line and drive them in (yes, I am thinking the criminals do that)

I kinda gave up at that point.........I hoped to at least point out to her that it's the criminal not the gun.

Other tidbit from her:
Look at England ....much better.....no guns ......check your long gun out from the gun place to go hunting then return it. (Where were you son to help me out on that one?)

Who signs up these kids for the gun classes? parents? what are we teaching them? ( to be gun nuts of course)
She obviously was anti hunting as well once I explained that they were hunter safety courses.
(Hope her and her Beemer meet up with one of the excess deer some nite)

It is extremely difficult (impossible) to have a discusion/sharing of ideas with some of these folks. :(

I know .......preaching to the choir
Time to get my "assault hammer" and "assault saw" and mortally wound some wood.

Just buy her a copy of John Lott's book More Guns, Less Crime.

I see you can get the hardcover for as low as 75 cents on half.com. She may never read it, but it may have an impact that you cared enough to buy her a book about the topic.

The very mention of that book causes anti's to experience a bout of Tourette's Syndrome.

Well, it's NOT an ego thing !

I spend a lot of time in my vehicle, on the road, in parking lots (that doesn't sound good ... but you know what I mean - walking back and forth to a building or store) alone. A lot of my travel is at night. I don't want to be a victim.

Carrying is not excuse for being unattentive to your surroundings ... it's a good reason to be more aware of what's going on wherever you are.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

No guns in England equals no violent crime.....mmmmmmmmmm lets rob an armoured car, instead of pointing a gun and threatening the guard, we'll throw liquid ammonia or bleach in his face or acid..........much more civilized than a gun, much safer place to live, OH I almost forgot, no one gets stabbed or slashed either   AAAAHHH..... the joys of the ignorant aye Dad.............?

For me it is kind of an ego thing. I feel that my welfare is more important than that of those who would try to harm me and mine. Call me egotistic.

Because I know what it feels like to be grabbed by the breasts and have my blouse ripped open in a public place by a stranger three times my strength. It kind of stepped on my big ego and made me feel a bit powerless, all you "concealed-carry" types should be able to well imagine...

:D
