In the crash of the night, fumbling with an adjustable stock does not seem like a good idea, If you need it, it should be already pointed at the threat, not while you try to see which adjustment slot the latch is in.


I'll give you that a shorter stock is a viable option if you don't like the collapsable idea. I prefer the collapsable myself, but if somebody didn't have that option or didn't prefer it, I'd advise the shorter stock, because you're right...it's easier to use a shorter stock than one which is too long for you.
