Arguably, in the Isolated Incident that jac714 brought up. :)

ETA: more seriously -- it clearly happens rarely, if at all. That doesn't mean that it's not a real, low-probability risk. Whether it's more than compensated for by the visibility of the gun scaring off criminals in the first place is, I think, a relevant and interesting question.

if the landlord can't put up a legal no firearms sign because only the renters, which in this case are the stores, have that banning ability then if the stores as a group decide to go with a no guns policy would the door signs at the entrances to the mall (assuming correct wording, etc...) be ok, or would each individual store have to put up signs as well.
