I was poking around the issue of carry permit reciprocity just now, specifically with respect to Texas. I've got a Utah permit, which covers me, but it'd be nice if the Minnesota permit was recognized in Texas directly. As it happens, Texas is one of the few states' permits Minnesota recognizes. All Texas requires to recognize another state's permit is that that state conduct a background check before issuing its permit, and Minnesota does that. (See, for example, this proclamation for Rhode Island, and note that reciprocity is not required.) Who should I contact to see about getting the ball rolling to have Texas recognize Minnesota's permit? |
