I never really understood all the the concern over the signs (compliant with the law or not).
Consider this:
A. You enter a restaurant with no signs. The manager/owner/person-in-charge learns you are carrying a weapon and asks you to leave.
B. You enter a hardware store with a sign. The manager/owner/person-in-charge learns you are carrying a weapon and asks you to leave.
Know what? In both cases you have to leave. What are you going to do, refuse?
The signs mean nothing. You can be asked to leave any place for nearly any reason by someone with the proper authority; carrying or not.
I've seen three schools of thought on the various carry-related boards. Some say you should respect the sign; others say you should ignore the sign. Still others say you should respect a compliant sign and ignore a non-compliant sign.
Personally, I ignore them all and it's never been a problem.
