I took She Who Must Be Obeyed to the Who concert last Friday night-- a birthday present. They had noncompliant signs posted, and did an external pat-down of my coat pockets. Since I was carrying in Thunderwear, and didn't care to get into a discussion of Minn. Stat. 624.714, it wasn't an issue.

The best solution around for those deep concealment needs.

Yup. That said, I really like the 511 jeans, too.

The 5.11 jeans look just like Wranglers....... kinda. Is there anything other than a fabric pocket for carry ? A guy would need to carry something with a fairly heavy trigger pull, maybe a small revolver if there's not a "holster" built into the pants.

A friend of mine used a pair of those at the St Paul gunshow with one of his carry guns. Works great. :D

I took my two kids and my GF to the WHO concert as well. When I walked up to the security dude, I had already pulled my jacket open and he waved me past. Kel Tec P3AT, right front jeans pocket. (I SO love my P3AT...!)

Did the same thing at the Bob Dylan concert a couple months ago, same arena.

Same show, same (assumed)weapon as Joel, same carry style as Aquaholic. No issues at all...no coat, no pat down.

I guess I look waaaay too clean cut for the "ASIA" folks

MM

PS Too bad about Roger's cold...would've been cool if Pete & the boys would've let "us" sing the whole song & maybe a couple more :D

Would've been even cooler if they would've played a couple of extra to make up for it.... "Tough Boys" comes to mind....

PPS Chrissy & The Pretenders kicked severe butt!!!!

IMO, neither band was anywhere NEAR loud enough. I especially like the Who LOUD. (It's possible that I had lost some hearing the previous night... I took my daughter to see Motley Crue and Aerosmith at the Target Center. Now THAT was LOUD!) BTW, same carry option, no problem.

I saw Aerosmith in the Target Center several years ago. That was probably the loudest concert I've ever attended. Almost too loud, even for me.

I was in our company suite, and decided to do an experiment. I went into the bathroom in the suite, closed the door, put kleenex in my ears and the sound was still very very loud.

I saw the Who when they were doing their Quadrephenia act maybe 5 years ago or so. That was a loud concert as well, but not so loud as Aerosmith. But Townsend, Daltry, and Entwistle were in top form for that show. Wasn't long after that when Entwistle passed.

Long Live Rock!

Both shows were before I had my carry permit, both at the Target Center, and I don't recall if they were patting down or open coat searching, etc.... I don't think they were though.

An interesting note about Excel, thew have a metal detector at one entrance. I often wondered what it was for, I found out the other day. They make staff and volunteers go thru it, but not ticket holders. A friend of mine was volunteering and was suposed to go thru, but followed the old walk in like you own the place motto, and was not challenged.

I went to the recent Dylan concert with my PM9 in a SmartCarry. I opened my jacket. The security officer barely touched me for a pat down. What a joke. They won't keep guns out that way. :)

Nope; there's nothing but the fabric pocket. I spent a bit of time with my (repeatedly checked to be unloaded, and pointed in a safe direction, okay?) Kahr PM9, and found that even if I really worked at it, I couldn't pull the trigger and get a click from the outside of the jeans, not even with the slack in the cloth made possible by holding, rather than wearing, them.

That said, my usual carry piece is, after all, a revolver, with an even heavier trigger pull.

OK, cool :)

Those 5.11 jeans sound like a useful item of gear, thank you for the information.
