MinnWest Bank in Champlin is now posted. The offending sign has gone up some time in the last six months, it was not there when the account was opened. I usually use the drive thru, but today I used the lobby. I will get a picture tomorrow when I go in to close the account.

Go activism! Let us know what (if anything) they say when you tell them WHY you are closing the account. After all, there are plenty of banks in the metro that do NOT post. -Mark

I closed the account on Friday afternoon. There were only three people working and no manager on duty. When they asked my reasons, I stated "because I am offended by your no guns sign in the entry". I received two big deer in the head lights expressions, was handed my cash and promtly deposited it in my new account down the street. I was hoping to get the opportunity to talk to a manager and explan my position further, but I did leave a "no guns, no money" card instead.
I forgot to get a picture of the sign, but I may drive by in the next few weeks to see if it is still there.

I agree.. I carry some with me a good share of the time and drop one whenever I go somewhere I need to go that is posted. I tend to partonize those establishments that do not post anyway but sometimes the need arises, and so does the card.

After seeing this, went down to my Minnwest Bank in Eagan, noticed that it was now posted also. I'm going to make sure to relay not only my disappointment with this, but of others as well. Very sad to see, our family and business does a fair amount of volume with Minnwest, along with referrals for accounts at Minnwest branches around the metro also.
